2018 is fleeting! It is already that magic time of year, back to school! For me, September feels much more like a new year has started than January. The kids are back to school and new routines have to be organized and settled into. It’s fresh and it seems that the possibilities are endless.
It also happens that September is SELF-CARE AWARENESS MONTH, and I am here for all of that! Self-care is not limited to getting a massage or taking a bubble. Although there is nothing wrong with doing whatever makes you feel good. Self-care comes in many forms and knows no bounds. It can be something as small as meditating to start your day or buying yourself a brand-new car. Whatever it is that you feel honor’s you and makes you feel like the fantastic creature that you are! This year, I have decided to care for myself by continuing to improve myself.
Last year, I started what I called Le Divorcée University. I read all the books that I mentioned in that post and you know what? Things started to shift. I was no longer wasting my energy on battling my ex. Instead, I started to focus on me and what I wanted and needed. Don’t get me wrong I did not roll over and admit defeat. Never!! I simply remembered what my yoga teacher always tells me “Where your focus goes, energy flows.” So, what could be better than focusing on ME? My major hasn’t changed, I am still pursuing my degree in GETTING YOUR SHIT TOGETHER and FINANCIAL FREEDOM! On this year’s class schedule: Blessings on Blessings, Levelling Up, Philosophy, Show Me the Money, and Mind Over Matter.
If you want to continue or join me on this journey than all you have to do is pick up one or all of the following books:
- Everyday Miracles by David Spangler
- Switch: How to Change When Change is Hard by Chip Heath & Dan Heath
- The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle
- Instant Income by Janet Switzer
- Get Your Sh*t Together by Sarah Knight
“We cannot become what we want by remaining what we are.”- Max Dupree
